Add to basketCloth. Decorative cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: NA. First full-length non-fiction book treatment of ladies' golf. (A novel, by Mrs. Kennard, about ladies' golf was published three years earlier.) The book 8vo. x, [2], 233, [1] pp. The book treats the subject from a wide range of angles -- competitions, ladi…es' clubs, professionals, etc. The cover of the book is a delightful color illustration of a woman putting with two men -- a coach/instructor and a caddy -- standing nearby. The colors employed are mainly red and black set against the green background, and the figures are lightly blindstamped into the boards. This copy is ex-library, evidenced by a pasted call number stamp on the spine and shadows of card sleeves or pockets on both the front and rear endpapers. The most conspicuous remnant of library ownership is on the rear free-endpaper, where part of the check-out paper mounted onto the endpaper partially survives. Otherwise, we can comfortably grade the book Very Good. It has light soiling on the cloth binding, and there is some inconsequential fraying of the spine extremities. Other than the number committed by the former library on the endpapers, the interior is clean, with light age toning to the leaves, and the book overall remains tight. Even with the ex-library vestiges, we consider this an appealing copy. First American Edition (same sheets as British First Edition).
