Signed by Charlot in black ink on the second page. Prior owner Hubert Owens' name appears on the interior front cover. Comprehensive look at the three large murals created by fresco painter Jean Charlot while he was artist-in-residence at the University of Georgia, 1941-1944. Unpaginated, with profuse black-and-white photographs, Introduction by Lamar Dodd, & Commentaries by the artist . One of only 2,500 copies printed in the winter of 1945, this small quarto has beige cloth-covered boards stamped & lettered in red to front & spine. Condition is VG+: very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages lightly tanned but completely unmarked save for very shallow & mild dampstain to outer top edges, a bit deeper to the last couple of pages & rear endpapers. Mild rubbing to extremities & bumping to both ends of spine & all corners with a barely perceptible dampstain to some parts of lower edges, does not bleed inside here. The price-clipped DJ is VG+, with light rubbing/crinkling at head of spine. Nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
