The Chauffeur in the earliest days was often recruited from the ranks of…eager, enterprising and smart young footman who could relish the enhancement of their status and thus consider he had the pick of the parlor maids (according to my own grandmother who was a maid at the time!) . Very enjoyable read. 177 pages,Very good condition book apart from read, front fly leaf has been removed( probably as it had a birthday or Christmas message) but otherwise good condition book and very good jacket.
