First Edition
Condition: Fair. 1950. First London Edition. 408 pages. No dust jacket. Orange pictorial cloth. Selected by Pascal Covici. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Slight gutter cracking. Binding is firm. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Bookseller's stamp to rear endpaper. A few dog-eared corners. Boards have some edge wear, with pronounced bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are crushed and frayed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Slight splits to joints. Heavy brown marking to rear. Boards are slightly bowed. Book has a heavy forward lean. A few liquid droplet marks.
