Hardcover. Condition: Good. [Czech Realism] Bound in publisher's cloth. Hardcover. Library stamps and markings. Shelf wear. viii, 296 pages ; 23 cm. "Jan Neruda was a Czech journalist, writer, and poet. He is considered one of the most important representatives of Czech Realism and a crucial figure in the development of Czech li…terature. Neruda was influenced by the works of other realist writers, such as Honore de Balzac and Charles Dickens, as well as the Czech Revival movement, which sought to promote Czech language and culture. His writing contributed to the development of a distinct Czech literary voice and helped to shape the country's cultural identity. Today, Neruda's work remains relevant for its enduring portrayal of human nature and its sharp observations on society. His poetry continues to be read and appreciated for its wit, honesty, and timeless insights into the human condition.".
