Proposed work is based upon the development of newer analogues of benzothiazoles followed by their biological evaluation. Benzothiazoles have been reported with good biological activities ranging from antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, antitumour, p56lck inhibition, immunosuppressive antitubercular activity etc. The derivatives of benzothiazoles have been developed very recently, targeting antitumour activity by various workers. The type of molecules are reported to act based upon their interaction with aryl hydrocarbon receptor as well as their interaction with p56lck. Reports are available mentioning the importance of metabolism and the deactivation of the molecules with respect to their biopotency.This gives an additional avenue for the researchers to work upon the concept of prodrug and mutual prodrugs of these bioactive molecules and come up with better activity profile.
