Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Brown Cloth. Condition: VG+ for age and genre. No Jacket (assume none issued). 2nd Ed. adverts to pastedowns (fr.one with photo of little girl for Mellins Food for Infants and Invalids'), further advert to recto front endpaper, pub.list to verso same+ (2 press puffs for 1st Edition)+ half title with pub.details of related title on verso, t.p.+xiv (though this includes all preliminary pp., technically the t.p. is p.vii)+146; the only significant fault is tanning to recto front endpaper and p.146 (last p. with no endpaper issued at end), moderate scattered brown flecking to textblock edes, covers clean and unworn bar slight rubbing to spine and a few faint patches of slight pigment loss to back. A quite excellent copy for works of this nature and no copies listed in any format on major websites when listed, so presumably very scarce. Clearly of interest to social historians, feminist historians and historians of medicine and psychology.
