With 195 small illustrations in the text, small 8vo, pp xviii, 313, very slightly weak internally, but very clean, red cloth showing only slight signs of wear, spine very slightly faded. [Previous owner's signature on the half-title - Chas R Cowla…n (?). This is also written on the front endpaper, where a subsequent owner has commented that he was the manager of a gunpowder factory, and served in the war at the Ministry of Supply and subsequently at the Headquarters Investigation Offices.].
