Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Third edition. Third edition, revised by L.P. Sidney. With 195 small illustrations in the text, small 8vo, pp xviii, 313, very slightly weak internally, but very clean, red cloth showing only slight signs of wear, spine very slightly faded. [Previous owner's signature on the half-title - Chas R Cowlan (?). This is also written on the front endpaper, where a subsequent owner has commented that he was the manager of a gunpowder factory, and served in the war at the Ministry of Supply and subsequently at the Headquarters Investigation Offices.].

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 8vo. 313 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in burgundy cloth (embossed to give the appearance of leather). The binding is rubbed and worn but sound. Front cover has a spot of smeared damp-staining. Front inner hinge is just starting, but the text block is sound and the text is clean.
