Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. c.1990. A set of 9 pewter figurines, produced by Bob Olley for British company 'Shire Evocations'. The larger (humanoid) pieces stand at 5 inches tall, and the smaller (halfling/dwarf) pieces stand at 3 inches tall. Each figurine is a first run piece - presumed a proof-of-concept or prototype, each numbered 1/0103 with the exception of Frodo, numbered 1/0113, each with medallion fixed into the underside with translucent glue. The series appears to have never gone into full commercial production and examples seem extremely scarce. Each bears no obvious discolourations, however some deterioration to the glue means the figure of Merry has one foot beginning to pull loose from the base, the figure of Aragorn has its cape and arm detached, the figure of Boromir has one hand with drinking horn detached, and the figure of Legolas has its bow detached - all parts included, and in suitable condition for repair.
