Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First edition. Quarto. 237pp. Heavily illustrated in color and black and white. Text in Spanish. Bottom corners gently bumped, evidence of label removal on front pastedown, near fine in moderately worn, about very good dust jacket with several tiny nicks and tears, tape reinforcement at the crown, and some pigmentation (likely from a black marker) at the crown and top of the upper flap fold. Nicely Inscribed on the half-title: "To my dear old friend Eva with beautiful remembering. Olga. Quito, 31 of Oct. 1989." Eva was apparently visiting Olga in Ecuador; laid in is a Typed Letter Signed in German to a mutual friend, Mr. Erwin Stanton of Berkeley. The kind letter, Signed "Olga," gives a brief update on her life and sweetly chides him for not visiting her in Ecuador. "Eva" adds a postcript: "Russ + I are enjoying our visit with Olga and reminiscing about old times." The letter is folded for mailing else fine with the typed envelope present, as well as three small sheets on which Erwin Stanton seemingly made notes (in German) toward a response. Also laid in is a 1986 candid portrait of Fisch, captioned on the verso "What a dear at 85!" Fisch was a Hungarian Jew who emigrated to Ecuador in 1939. She was a noted artist and champion of Ecuadorian folk art. An article in *The Christian Science Monitor* states that she "quietly presided over a revolution in the world's attitude toward South American Indian art.".
