This scarce, powerful an…d disturbing collection of Holocaust images, predominantly taken in the ghettos of Bedzin and Lodz and the camp in Bergen-Belsen by captured Nazi soldiers, might best be described in the words of the editors: "The incentive to produce this collection gave us our deepest desire to show the world the crimes of Germany, to give expression to the throttled cry of pain of the Jews, to the sighs of our fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, during the frozen nights of winter and the overpowering heat of the summer which was spent in sealed railway trucks, the desire to bring back to our memories of the Jewish settlements which were drowned in torrents of Jewish blood".
