Some stains from leather at corners/edges of endpapers. Hinges cracked and repaired. Green paper boards with very worn green half-calf; particularly worn along spine. Gilt lettering and ruling on spine, with four raised bands. Leather at bottom corner of rear board lost. Used - Good. Good hardback in half-leather.…

Bound in the publisher's original green cloth over beveled boards, the spine and upper cover embossed and densely decorated in a series of decorative frames and central panel with title on gilt background, lower cover repeating the upper in blind, a.e.g., brown endpapers. Contains the first appearance of Louisa May Alcott's story "Madam Cluck and Her Family" later collected in Aunt Jo's Scrap Bag. Very slight wear, but an exceptionally bright copy - rare thus.…
