Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A nice, tight copy issued without dust jacket. Book is 1/4 buckram over red cloth. Gold vignette on the front cover. Title block in red with gold lettering and stamping. some damp staining to front cover, but virtually no wear. Marbled endpapers. Remnants of previous owner's book plate on front free endpaper. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Dimensions: 25cm x 17cm approx. Looks at the City's history from a unique perspective. Includes a preface by The Lord Bishop of Oxford + errata. 388 pages with (4) facsimile documents, one of which is a fold-out. Very nice copy!

Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. 388 pages. Some Latin and French text. Tear down and fairly crude tape repair to inner edge of title page. Private stamp on end paper. Leather spine frayed at head and base are well rubbed, Mild foxing esp. to preliminaries and last few pages. String visible on front hinge and slight weakness. Hardback. Royal Letters Addressed to Oxford, and now existing in the City Archives.
