Half-Leather. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Fifth. HB. In 2 volumes. Half red leather marbled boards, with five banded spine and bright gilt lettering to spine. Wear and rubbing to edges, corners, bands and joints ( about 10% of the red leather is rubbed away, in particular on the corner pieces. There is some rubbing to the marbliing,too. Marbled eps and page-edges. xxv111 and 512 pages and 552 pages, resp., with Vol 1 having frontis of Napoleon engraved from a cameo by Morelli and an engraving from a medal of Napoleon's head. In Vol 2 there is a frontis of there is a etching of Napoleon based on a statue, an illus of Longwood the house where he died. To summarise: boards Fair, contents Very Good.
