Paper. Condition: VG+. 3'rd Edition. A strong tradition of Hebrew culture has been its oral transmission of the people's `literature'. Collected here are 71 examples, gathered under various titles : `Covetous', `Kings and Commoners', `Clever Jews' and `Numskulls' -among them. UNillus., but a short intro to each tale gives the circumstance of the gathering. Two sample tales are `Till I Prove Who I Am' and `This Too Will Pass' Cond : Paper wrapper is white with purple and mauve decoration. Cover drawing is of three women dancing. All corners and edges are lightly rubbed or chipped. Minor creases or bumps at three corners.Spine fine, binding tight, colours bright. No names, marks, tears, stains, nor folds. Almost giftable !! Quote (p. 91)(A Judge of Horses.) : " After a short time, the king wanted to add a fine horse to his stock. He chose a noble horse from those shown to him.
