Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Clean, tight, unmarked; age tanning; light crease to upper front edge of cover; otherwise very minimal wear; appears unread; This book presents an account of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike, written by the workers who organized the strike. Their day-to-day description of events was prepared for pro-labour sympathizers across Canada and to counteract the ant-strike accounts carried in the mass media. Included in this book are 40 photographs taken at the time, including a remarkable sequence of pictures taken on Bloody Saturday when RNWMP bullets killed one man in front of Winnipeg's city hall.

Photograph
Two vintage photographs, a publicity photograph of Lanny Ross and a reference photograph of Lanny Ross, both shot by photographer Ray Jones for the 1934 film. Both photographs with a studio stamp crediting photographer Jones on the verso, and one with two mimeo snipes on the verso, one affixed and one printed. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. College football star Jack Oakie and piccolo player Lanny Ross both have eyes for Helen Mack, and their rivalry continues after graduation when Oakie gets a job in Ross' dad's department store. Lanny Ross was a singer, pianist, songwriter, and actor who appeared in eleven films from 1933 to 1943. He was also the winner of the 300 yard sprint at the 1928 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.
