Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and tanning. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with some small tears, chipping and creasing. Some rubbing and marking to surfaces.

The original green cloth is in excellent shape with one bumped corner; gilt lettering on the spine is as bright as if just issued. The interior shows some mild age-toning, but pages are clean and supple. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] The original dustjacket is chipped a bit on the edges with one closed tear on the sunned spine. This work has been "a medical best seller every year for six years. Nine large printings of the earlier editions were necessary to keep up with the ever-increasing demand. The book is now universally recognized as the finest correlation of physiology with clinical medicine yet achieved. The new third edition has been brought up to date [1943].
