There is an inoffensive lotus stamp (ink) on title page and page 1 of the text, after the introduction has a serious crease. All edges of the wrappers show wear. All corners are dinged. A seven page appendix explaining such things as the hours of meditation follows the main text; that is followed by by a seven page glossary of terms such as `kentan' and `shisho'. Both japanese characters and anglicized pronounciations are given followed by commentary in english. Each page of the text (99 pages) is headed by a Sato drawing (coloured)- very lively and light hearted- pertaining to the text of that page.The drawings and the hand lettered stlye of the text are what make the book attractive.
