Full wine-red morocco with gilt tooling on boards, spine and inside borders; all edges gilt. Front board loose; a little bit rubbed and slightly knocked; engraved title with small tear…in the head margin (1,5 cm) and slightly foxed; with the engraved amorial exlibris of Hugh Cecil Earl of Lonsdale on front paste-down. The 1st edition of 1835 had 12 plates; three of them had been replaced by new ones in the 2nd edition of 1837 and 6 others had been added just like in this copy of the 3rd edition. John Mytton is the incarnation of everything, which distinguishes an English sportsman: fairness, never ceasing efforts of improvement, good humour at any cirumstances etc. EN.
