    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. two volumes. old half calf gilt, the spines with six raised bands decorated in gilt, and blind, a little rubbed, small piece chipped from foot of vol one. Uncut, complete with folding hand colored map, 2 plates and 2 folding tables. Map with a short tear, but a very nice set. Signature of david sterling on each title. Second edition.

    Two volumes. The second edition, published at 16s 6d. 'The work contains a reference to the decrease of birds, owning to the progress of factories in Scotland. The beginning of the book has much to say about the Antonine Wall and other Roman Remains.'- Cox. Vol. I, pp. viii,384; Vol. II, pp. [ii],385-771,[1]. With a large folding hand coloured map, one other map, two folding charts & two plates. One of the charts a little foxed, otherwise a clean & pleasant copy. Bound in contemporary half calf, the spines in five panels, gilt, the boards marbled. Very small area of loss of leather to first volume to the number panel and tiny 6mm. split to lower rear hinge.
