[Children's] THIRD IMPRESSION. Octavo (20 x 13cm), pp.325 [1]. With 48 in-text illustrations by Millar, including a frontispiece. Publisher's red cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine and upper. Top edge gilt, others trimmed. Endpapers quite heavily browned, with neat repairs to split hinges. Slightly toned internally, otherwise clean. Moderate general wear to cloth, with some toning also to spine. Very good. The second instalment of the adventures of Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane and the Lamb. As opposed to the first story, the children find magic and wonder in central London, rather than the removed countryside of Kent. First published in the Strand Magazine in the summer of 1903.

First Edition. [Children's Fantasy Adventure] LEATHER-BOUND FIRST EDITION, first impression. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.352 [2]. With 47 engraved illustrations by Millar, including a frontispiece. Recently re-bound in red half morocco, with raised bands, gilt titles to spine, and the original publisher's gilt-decorated red cloth over boards. Top edge gilt. Toned and a little thumbed to edges. Light occasional spotting and minor marks throughout. A clean copy in an attractive new leather binding. Three children can't bear the thought of being stuck all summer with a prim maiden aunt, and so end up instead at a half-closed-up girls school where they discover fantasy and adventure out on the estate, complete with a magic ring which grants wishes.
