Cloth. Condition: Good. No Jacket. The covers are green and faded, the front cover has a laurel wreath in gilt with the letters TC in side it, the spine has faded to tan with dark titles. The corners are bumped and worn and the spine bottom and top has pieces of cloth chipped and a piece of title has come off, but has been saved, with a split up back part of spine. Frontispiece of Carlyle in 1846 The binding is holding very well and is tight, the fore edge is rough-cut and the top edge is red. The end sheets are yellowed and have different names on them and some other writing, the interior is also yellowed with age, and has some under lining in pencil and ink on most of pages, but still very readable. 282 pp including index.
