Naratives throughout the book describe both the fare and the character of 22 world-reknowned hotels and chateuas. A typical sampling is the Atlanta Biltmore, with a black and white photograph of the hotel on one page, a portrayal of the hotel on another and a 31-page section of the hotel's complete menu, with ingredients and total preparation for each item. There are some wonderful tips in rear of book, such as proper dress for waitress' and the use of finger bowls (tepid water, with a sprinkling of flower petals). Time and temperature charts, and much other useful information in rear of book. There are full-page black and white photographs (in one instance an artist's rendering) of all the hotels and chateaus presented in the book.
