paperback. Condition: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only. Add to basket18.5 x 13cm. Paperback, 32pp. A comic book produced by Navin Rawanchaikul for his installation at the 11th Biennale of Sydney, Australia, 1998. "Taking the Bangkok's Taxi Gallery concept on the road for the first time, 'Another Day in Sydney' responded to Sydney as a multicultural city of immigrants where cab drivers come from countries across the planet. Navin Rawanchaikul collaborated with film-writer peer Teerawut Chareonvicha documenting numerous interviews with such drivers, producing the first comic book under Navin Production. Based on a day in the life and their experiences, during the biennale period the project invited ABC company cab drivers to distribute comics during show. At the waterfront pier gallery space, an actual ABC taxi cab was parked and filled with free copies of the 'Another Day in Sydney' comic, with visitors sitting in the taxi's front seats listening to the interview recordings. Creating a social environment, the installation also included dinky, custom made taxi stalls for visitors to sit on and soak up the ambience." Rare piece of ephemera. Cover little creased, otherwise very good condition.…

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Thick folio, 271 pages, illustrated in color with several inserts and fold-out plates. Heavy illustrated boards. - First edition. COMM. the nucleus of communication. COMM. the core of commotion, common, community, commodity, commute. When linked together like a woven fabric, these six COMM-keywords amount to a rhizome of every-day life structures - the operational playground for Navin Rawanchaikul's past and present projects. Operating on this ground and utilising the communication system 'art', Navin assumes different roles of either being the mediator, the operator, the facilitator, the service provider, or the entertainer. All these roles are based on communication, the communication of real life with its subversive normality and its vital principles that cover the individual as a whole in her/his respective biographical, social and aesthetic situation. Describing of what he perceives in a highly complex and yet fragmented world, Navin's projects perform an almost seamless transition from art into life and from life into art. …. I believe that Navin does not want his art be experienced and understood as a product but rather as a process. In the following I have framed some but not all of Navin's projects with the help of these six COMM-keywords. It goes with saying that these frames reflect my preferences but are in fact interchangeable similar to the scrabble COMM. (Helen Michaelsen).…
