Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book collects over 40 fascinating conversations between the author, a Quaker minister, and various individuals engaged in prominent religious roles during 17th and 18th century England. The debates range across an array of theological concepts as they were debated during the period, from the nature of the sacraments to the possibility of perfection in this life. The author skillfully engages the views of Catholic priests, Presbyterian ministers, and even skeptical onlookers, exploring the implications and complexities of these ideas through dialogue. The author's perspective was shaped by an understanding of the profound nature of Quakerism as an inward, experiential expression of faith, grounded in personal revelation and the immediate guidance of the divine. These dialogues provide insights into the religious and philosophical mindset of the time, offering a fresh vantage point from which to appreciate the rich tapestry of beliefs that existed in an era of theological ferment and intellectual exploration. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
