Binding is firm. A very good copy. With Preface and appendices. Features eight chapters titled as: "The Old in the New," "Te Schools of the People," "A Constructive Statesmanship," "The Industrial Revival and Child Labor,": "Child Labor and the Industrial South," "The South and the Negro," "A Narrative of Cooperation," and "Culture and Democracy." An 1899 graduate of the University of the South, Edgar Gardner Murphy served as an Episcopal Church priest for twelve years switching to educational and social work after 1903 eventually achieving executive positions and/or organizing the Southern Education Board, Conference for Education in the South, Southern Society for Consideration of Race Problems and Conditions in the South, and the National Child Labor Committee. {AmHistShelf-#2}.
