Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Green-tinted cloth boards with black lettering; Cover illustration of a man carrying a little boy on his shoulder in black and green. Black and white illustrations. Binding a bit loose, but not cracked. Notable wear on cover edges and corners; spine soiled. Thick pages are tinted tan, but are free from marks. Includes a full color frontispiece illustration. 222 pages. circa 1920. First published in 1875, it is a children's fairy tale about Prince Dolor, who is paralyzed after a fall at his christening and exiled to a tower by his wicked uncle. His fairy godmother gives him a magical cloak that allows him to fly, enabling him to see the world, develop wisdom and empathy, and eventually reclaim his kingdom. The story is a classic about overcoming adversity, with themes of courage, kindness, and the power of imagination.
