Publisher s green cloth with Argentine arms gilt-stamped on front cover and title lettered in gilt on spine; joints and corners worn. First published in 1863, this very comprehensive manual was designed as an aid for immigrants. It was also the first English book printed in Argentina. Its last chapter (pp401-404) deals with the Falkland Islands. The editors, initially engaged in sheep farming, also founded the Buenos Aires Standard , the first daily newspaper in English.
