Hardcover. Condition: Good. xii, 244pp, with one fold out map and numerous black and white plate illustrations. In green pictorial cloth boards with gilt and black lettering front and spine. 8vo. Cloth rubbed around spine ends, less so on corners, a few mild marks, backstrip lightly sunned. Some toning and spotting on endpapers, rear hinge partially cracked, previous owner's neat inscription, date 1905, inked onto front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A vintage history of Uganda, aimed at younger readers. Ham Mukasa, also known as Hamu Mukasa, was a vizier at the court of Mutesa I of Buganda, now a part of Uganda.

An account of Apolo Kagwa's trip to England from Uganda, detailing the travel itself, as well as his impressions of England and English customs. Kagwa was Katikkiro in Uganda, equivalent to a prime minister, and traveled to England in 1902 in that official capacity. GOOD condition. Heavy fading to the spine, with some fading along the extremities. Minor soiling and spotting to the cover. Frontis tissue guard detached and laid in. Owner's name on the title page. Minor toning in the interior.
