Cuenta en un estilo sencillo pero muy cuidado los avatares de la gibraltareña Simi Cohen, joven de familia judía que sintió la llamada de la Virgen y huyó de su casa para hacerse cristiana. La novela, qu…e el Padre Muiños subtituló "relato histórico", está basada en la vida de la monja agustina sor María Dolores del Amor de Dios quien, casi desde su bautismo, vivió dando muestras de su bondad en la clausura del convento de Jesús, María y José de MedinaSidonia, dedicada a la oración y a los oficios que requería de ella la congregación (enfermera, ropera, tornera, subpriora, portera mayor). Aquí murió y está sepultada. En estos momentos la Iglesia Católica tiene abierto el proceso de su beatificación y canonización.
