Subsequent depictions show the progress of the store in 1874 1889 and finally in 1902. The artist is not recorded but the quality of the drawings shows the artist to be professional. Each sketch measures approx. 16 x 12 cm. plus good margins. The first store was located near where the Dominican Convent was later built (now St. Paul's International College). Some years later Taylor opened a new store in Argyle Street handing over to his two sons Charles Sidney and James Joyce Taylor. The Taylor Brothers Store had departments catering for every need - grocery hardware gifts furniture drapery footwear clothing firearms & explosives produce timber yard joinery and undertakers. A fine historical record.
