v, + 49 architectural drawings (each drawing with 2pp text) + bibliography, 9.5x6 inch red frenchfold wraps, an elegant production with a bit of crimping and a tiny nick to spine panel, also a large (2x3 inch) sticker adhesion someone tried to remove. Internally clean and unmarked, and perfectly sound. Architectural documents 1. The author has mainstream titles in an academic field (chairs prestigious design schools, etc.) but quotes mavens of mythology such as Giedion and Mircea Eliade, and even John Michell on how to "civilize" land-masses. The very first thing to do, he avers, is to give the land in question a NAME. His texts approach strange levels such as dowsing and magnetic nodes.

Hardcover. Condition: New. Through an analysis of works by Architects Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, this book seeks to pursue the role of the architect as community builder and shaper of human experience in addition to their physical impact on the built landscape. A first monograph for the firm, the book introduces the Studio's unique, personal and careful approach to the design of buildings of their own time and place within the culturally rich environment of New Orleans and the Deep South region.
