Morgan [1910?1993] and Marvin Smith [1910?2003] were identical African-American twin brothers. They were photographers and artists known for documenting the life of Harlem in the 1930s to 1950s. The Smiths photographed with the intention of showing the different facets of Black life. Along with capturing the Civil rights movement and anti-lynching demonstrations, the brothers were among the first to capture the vibrant lives of Harlem residents. Francis ?Frank? Madigan?s career spanned forty years at Siena College. He served as assistant dean for the Arts Division from 1969-1971, and as the dean of the Arts Division from 1971-1977. He was chairman of the English Department from 1987-1989. He retired as a full professor and was granted Emeritus status in 2001. Madigan [1936-2020] created an Honors Seminar on the Harlem Renaissance, for which he took his students to the Shomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Signed.
