A lectotype is designated for Onoba moreleti Dautzenberg. A species from southern Spain, often confused with O. moreleti, is described as O. josae n. sp. 5 pp., 8 figs, gr. 8.

The holotype of Conus pusio Sowerby I, 1834, is traced in the National Museum of Wales. This specimen also represents the holotype of C. melvilli Sowerby III, 1879, which fact makes both taxa objective synonyms. Since the name C. pusio is preoccupied by Hwass, 1792, the valid name for the species is C. melvilli. The holotype is a unique specimen; although mentioned from Key West, its locality is unknown. Conus melvilli WSowerby" in Perry, 1939, from Floridy was renamed C. perryae Clench, 1942. 4 pp., 3 figs, 4.

A new trochid species, Umbonium eloiseae, is described, collected at Masirah Island, Sultanate of Oman. Its colour pattern varies less than that of the other Indian Ocean species, U. vestiarium and its external anatomy resembles that of the tribe Bankiviini. 5 pp., 16 figs, gr. 8.

According to Hickman & McLean (1990) the subfamilies Gabrieloninae, Tricoliinae and Phasianellinae together comprise the "pheasant shells". Previously the only pheasant shell known from Oman was Phasianella solida; now Tricolia variabilis and T. ios are recorded, and Gabrielona roni n. sp. is described from the "upwelling" area of Dhofar Province in southern Oman. 8 pp., 19 figs, gr. 8.

A new species, Turbo jonathani n. sp., is described from shallow water off the Dhofar coast of southern Oman. It is compared with several other Turbo species, including the Panamic T. fluctuosus Wood, 1828, which resembles it in ornament and colour pattern and has a rather similar radula. The operculum of T. jonathani is quite distinct. 5 pp., 6 figs, gr. 8.

Triphora verbernei n. sp. and Triphora peetersae n. sp. are described from Curaçao and Aruba, respectively. A lectotype is designated for Triphora novem Nowell-Usticke, 1969. 4 pp., 8 figs, gr. 8.

The history of the various interpretations towards the correct identity of Conus egregius Sowerby, 1914 is reviewed. The find of a similar shell in the Red Sea has led to the conviction that C. egregius was based on a juvenile specimen of Conus quercinus. 4 pp., 3 figs, gr. 8.

About 50 species of the genus Conus are recorded from the Chesterfield Islands, which are situated between New Caledonia and Queensland. Conus luciae is described as a new species from Banc Nova from depths around 300 m. 6 pp., 6 figs, 4.

Micromolluscs of the family Rissodiae and belonging to the genus Alvania s.l. from the Canary Islands and the Madeira archipelago are revised. For several species the type locality is restricted and lectotypes are disignated for Rissoa canariensis d'Orbigny, 1839, R. euchila Watson, 1886, R. aurantiaca Watson, 1873, R. leacocki Watson, 1873, and R. macandrewi Manzoni, 1868. Two species (Alvania guancha n.sp. and A. piersmai n.sp.) are new to science. 13 pp., 38 figs, 4.
