Its composer, Montague Ewing (18901957), was a self-taught musician, at his most popular in the first two decades of the 20th century, best known for 'The Policeman's Holida…y' (1911). He also composed under the pseudonyms Herbert Carrington, Sherman Myers, Brian Hope and Paul Hoffman. This original 8-page stitched manuscript contains 6 pages of sheet music, with a full colour illustration by Cress Woollett on the front, and a list of other dance music by Montague Ewing on the back. It is enclosed in a maroon paper cover with cut-out windows to show titles, embossed with snake-skin pattern. Good used condition, illustration a little spotted.
