The dimensions of crankshaft were found by analytical calculations and the design was checked for various stresses. The crankshaft was modeled in PRO/E software using the calculated dimensions and was imported to ANSYS for FEA. FEA is a good tool for design analysis and avoid laborious time consuming analytical calculations. Thereafter design optimization has been done to reduce the cost and weight of the crankshaft.…
