Title page inscribed by Ralph Steadman with a very early signature and inscription: 'For the Hughes children from Ralph Steadman 11 Mar '72'; the 'Hughes' children being Frieda and Nicholas Hughes, children or Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes; same page also uncommonly signed by Mischa Damjan with the same date. First UK edition, Dobson Books Ltd, 1968. Lovely and scarce example of an early Steadman signature and a rare inscription to Ted Hughes' children: Frieda, who became a well-known poet and artist, and her biologist brother Nicholas. Ted Hughes and Ralph Steadman worked together on various books. Jacket not price-clipped; taper mend to top edge of front jacket panel; tear to bottom edge of rear jacket panel; nicks to spine foot and top edge. Provenance: from Frieda Hughes.
