Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good Minus. 1st Edition. Stated 'First Edition.' It is the first English edition, as it was translated from the Hebrew. You can see the covers in the photos. They are quite clean. There's a little toning off the top and bottom edges. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There's a little crinkling at the spine ends. The cover edges are in very good shape, no rubbing. The top ones are a little lighter blue than the middle and bottom edges. The corners look very good, no rubbing. The page edges are very clean. The top one has a yellow topstain. It looks very good. The book is quite solidly bound. The pages are nicely tight throughout. The covers are nicely tight as well. The inside covers and end papers are very clean. Scrolling through the pages, I found only a half-dozen or so with one tiny, to small, spot. The pages are nicely bright. I haven't found any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted active cover. There is a tiny loss off the top edge of the front cover, a few little scuffs of the bottom edge of the spine, and one just adjacent off the bottom edge of the front. There is a light crease off the top corner of the rear cover. The rear cover is toned. The flaps are in decent condition. There is a thin vertical crease on the rear flap, another small one below the rear flap's top corner. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. However, the previous owner penned a thin red line through the price and underneath it penned what looks like either '94' or '9y'. There is also a little pink semicircle to the left of the price. From the dust jacket: 'Thoughtful readers will find themselves profoundly stirred by this near-allegorical tale.'. Jacket Design by Milton Glaser (illustrator).…

"The ultimate collection of interviews and encounters with Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan, spanning his entire career from 1962 to today. Complete with dust jacket. From the publisher: "Cyril Connolly has chosen as his 'Key' books those which best illustrate the spirit of the modern movement which dawned with Flaubert and Baudelaire, reached its zenith early in the century, and only became past history in the fifties - if it has become past history. In selecting the one hundred titles Mr. Connolly has taken as his criterion not personal preference, but the importance of each work in the setting of the movement itself. Of course, not everyone will agree, and disagreeing with Mr. Connolly's choice may well become a parlour game amongst fellow literary critics and others. But the greatest value of the book is to those not yet in a position to argue with the compiler, to whom his taste, erudition and critical genius will open new paths. Mr. Connolly has plotted a course through seventy years of literature which can be followed with benefit and much enjoyment by all students of literature. The one hundred titles are divided into four periods, each of which is briefly introduced; the whole is prefaced with a stimulating analysis of the modern movement as a whole in which Mr. Connolly explains his choice of books. Each book is dated and briefly described in a short paragraph or two which includes information on the author's other works and sets the book in its place in the movement. The book is completed by a full bibliography which includes details of available British and American and French editions as well as information on translations.". First American edition (so stated). Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Book Club Edition. Published in 1979 by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, this Book Club Edition of Little Birds: Erotica presents one of Anaïs Nin?s most candid and influential collections, written during the period when she was commissioned to produce erotic fiction in the 1940s. Issued simultaneously in New York and London, the volume reflects the resurgence of interest in Nin's previously suppressed erotic writings during the late 1970s. The book is Near Fine, with bright, clean, and unmarked pages throughout. The binding is tight and square, the red cloth boards remain fresh, and the spine is strong with no lean. Of particular bibliographic interest is a hand-stamped regional printer's mark on the rear flyleaf reading 'Orange Books,' a distinctive production detail associated with Orange Graphics of Orange, Virginia, the firm credited with printing and binding this edition. Such regional printer stamps are uncommon survivals and add documentary interest for collectors of modern American publishing history. The dust jacket is present and in Very Good condition, showing light edge wear and small chips at the extremities, consistent with age, but retaining strong color and a clean, striking Milton Glaser jacket design. The jacket is unclipped and complete, with no tape repairs or restoration. No inscriptions, bookplates, or laid-in ephemera are present. Milton Glaser (1929-2020) was one of the most influential graphic designers of the 20th century, best known for creating the iconic 'I Love NY' logo and for shaping the visual language of American publishing, advertising, and cultural institutions. A co-founder of New York magazine, Glaser's work is celebrated for its bold typography, conceptual clarity, and humanistic warmth. His book jacket designs, such as the striking cover for Little Birds, are highly regarded for marrying visual sophistication with literary resonance, making them especially appealing to collectors. Wright's second novel (following The Messenger, 1963) and his best-known work, The Wig is a surreal, satirical, and darkly comic exploration of race and class in America.
