Many of the poems in the book are preceded by a full-page black-and-white copy of a painting of hers. Shulamith Wittenberg Miller was born in Jerusalem, a fourth-generation sabra on her mother's side. She graduated from the Bezalel Art School and afterwards studied for a short time in Paris with Andre L'hote. In 1933 she arrived in the United States and had her first exhibit in New York at the Roerich Museum. She was the first Israeli-born artist to exhibit in the U.S. Over the years she exhibited in many cities in the United States in both solo and group shows. She began writing poetry late in life. You can see the covers in the photos. They are quite clean. They do have toning at their margins and there is a small circular shading just off the top edge of the front cover, perhaps there was a very tiny sticker there. There really isn't any wear on the covers. The page edges look very clean. The book is also very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent shape. The pages are extremely clean. I'm not seeing any soiling. I'm also not seeing any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the artist's signature, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There is a narrow area of toning just off the bottom edge of the last three pages, similar to what you see on the rear cover. The inscription, on the title page, reads 'To Pollocks, Shulamith W. Miller.' At the top of the page she dated it 'Nov 15, 1983.'. Inscribed by Author(s).…
