Michael Harrison was the pen name of English mystery and fantasy writer, Maurice Rohan, better known today as one of the great Sherlock Holmes scholars and author of several books on Conan Doyle's legendary fictional detective. This book purporting to be, "The Memoirs of Mr. Sherlock Holmes, OM, late Consulting Private Detective-in-Ordinary to Their Majesties Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, and King George V," was compiled and edited by Harrison in the form of a memoir written by Holmes himself in 1915 and covering the period 1881-91. Holmes then deposited the manuscript at the British Museum for safekeeping. 296 pages including a bibliography and index; illustrated with 26 black & white photos and drawings. Text edges show foxing, o/w text is clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered.
