On July 20, 1975, in Montreux, the quartet consisted, along with Braxton on saxophones, of Kenny Wheeler, trumpet, Dave Holland, bass, and Barry Altschul, percussion. In Berlin on Nov. 4, 1976, trombonist George Lewis replaced Kenny Wheeler.

Die Atmosphäre bei den Aufnahmen erscheint greifbar, ästhetisch ein Genuss, natürlich überwiegend in Schwarz-Weiß. Endlich gibt es diese Bilder in einem massiven Bildband, der darüber hinaus viele gute Informationen über Künstler, Label und so weiter enthält. Sehr cool auch die beigefügten CDs (2 Stück) mit einem repräsentativen Querschnitt aus dem Back-Katalog von Blue Note. Ein begehrenswertes Sammlerstück!
