Softcover. Condition: Very good. Quarto. (vi), 9pp + (9)ff. A noble rendition of the Arthurian cycle, beginning with Meriwether's adaptations of various tales including Arthur's origins, the battle of Balan and Balin, Lancelot and Guinevere's tryst, the quest for the Grail, and Arthur's death at the hand of Mordred. What follows are nine plates of stiff card, from which the reader can cut free-standing figures of the various characters as well as three walls of a castle. These can then be set up in front of the scene revealed at the interior of the dust wrapper, creating a dynamic, ready-made stage on which to recreate the myths of Britain. Bound in pictorial wrappers somewhat toned, as throughout, with edges slightly rubbed. Dust wrapper moderately sullied, with sunning and mild chips to spine. Still in original glassine, quite fragile. Quite scarce, especially in this unused condition.

Condition: Good. New York, London: Harper and Brothers Publishers, 1927. First edition. A folio red paper folder with black spine and titling, illustration of Robin Hood to front, and medallion of bounding deer to rear. 10pp + cutout sheets. The folder is decorated with a market scene to flaps, and a forest scene to inside surface; acorn decorations to front and rear of booklet, frontispiece of Robin Hood and Little John, title page illustration of trumpeting archers, devices of Robin Hood's adventures to beginning and end of text, and eight pages of characters and set pieces - all in limited palate of green, brown, and black. A near-very good book, unused, with splitting and fraying starting at spine tips, and two-inch tear to front joint. Early gifter's inscription, and previous owner's name inked to cover of booklet. The folder and booklet are both quite brown, but the pictures are clear, clean, and bright, and the set is clearly unused with pieces all untouched. Inquire if you need further information.
