"English Printed Books" by Francis Meynell is a lovely illustrated book that presents a brief but cogent history of the British book trade from early times to the mid twentieth century. It was published in 1958 by Collins in their famous "Britain in Pictures" series. The book has 8 color plates and 21 black-and-white illustrations. A very charming book, indeed! Francis Meynell was a British poet, conscientious objector in World War I, and an avowed socialist. He was a printer for the Nonesuch Press. SERIES : Britain in Pictures (No. 95).
