Hardcover. Condition: Good. A Good only volume of a hard to find title, with exterior hinges cracked, but tight text block. Corners are bumped/worn; rear book board lists other Harper's Family Library titles. Exterior is mildly soiled, with spine paper chipped (see photo). Engravings of Josephine and Napoleon (with tissue guard) on facing pages, at front. Josephine Bonaparte was the first wife of Emperor Napoleon I. Some light scattered foxing (to margins); pages are wavy and age-toned, But NO sight of any 'water marks' at all. 396 pages. Protected in a mylar slip. Hard to find as a early nineteenth century issue.
