Book signed by the author on the half-title page and gifted to a methodist church and contains the normal attributes of a church library; interesting is a taped in one page typed narrative by the author that is dated 3-26-74 (5 years after the publication of this first edition) Apparently the author decided after the book was published that he should identify all the fictional characters in the book who were in fact members of his family including "The Slave Boy" who was his grandfather. The Author was Jacob Mehany in the book; dust jacket is unclipped has a few edge tears and chips bur looks very good in protective cover; quite an interesting amount of provanance accompanying thiis copy.
