Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. First edition, First printing. Preface, Foreword, Translators' Notes, Introduction, Conclusion, Bibliography, Indexes; xxvi, 315 pages. The bright, spring-green cloth is in excellent condition, with brilliant gilt lettering on the spine and upper board. There is just a hint of a bump to two corners tips and tail of the spine. [Please see multiple images of the actual book.] The interior is equally fine: bright, crisp and clean throughout. The unclipped, glossy dustjacket shows hardly any wear. "Unlike previous works on this great thinker, [this book] combines the benefits of a monograph and an anthology. It provides a sustained, substantive introduction to the writings of Augustine as well as a carefully selected and thematically developed series of Augustinian texts, in a new uniform translation. Together, the essays and his readings provide illuminating access to the thinking of one of history's most influential philosophers." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly---domestic sales sent with 'delivery confirmation' tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.
