Yellow endpages. Pages are starting to age tone. Some underlining and marginalia in volumes. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. One of the more interesting items for the Thackeray collector which includes descriptions written by him. Other contributors include Douglas Jerrold and Leigh Hunt. The illustrator Meadows was a prominent comic artist and was associated with Leech, Jerrold and Thackeray in formulating the idea of an English Charivari, and idea that Mayhew and Lemon expanded into Punch.
