From 1853 to c1862 this monthly publication (here published in book form) appears to have been issued with the botanical plates either in coloured or uncoloured state. Most copies have some coloured and some uncoloured. This copy has 13 plates (correct as published list) of which one botanical and two others are coloured, publisher's blind stamped green cloth (rather worn, corners heavily bumped with boards showing, fold over at front edge of top board unglued), ex library (Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station) with a small circular stamp on the front pastedown and rear of one plate and 4 withdrawn stamps, LACKS 2 leaves (pp79/80 and 497/8) and gather 19 (pp281-297), small stain on pp231/2, 6 plates are toned otherwise very clean internally, modern woodcut bookplate by Andy English on front pastedowns, 8vo (239x159mm). …
