Hardbound. Condition: Very Good. 3rd impression. Description: This is from a series of The Practical Books of Home Life Enrichment ''each profusely illustrated, handsomely bound, octavo, cloth, in a sip case'' -- this quoted from the book, but I have to wonder if the books were also offered in a deluxe edition, for this appears to be bonded leather rather than cloth. The title page is printed in red an black ''with 7 plates in colour, 283 in doubletone, and a chart.'' These numbers are perhaps somewhat misleading -- there is a color frontis, one single sided color plate, and two double sided color plates plus 173 black and white plates -- several of these show more than one illustration per page, thus the 283 declared total. BNDING/CONDITION: dark burgundy binding; raised spine bands; thin gilt ruled border; gilt spine text; the top edge is gilt; a Very Good book; no slipcase. table, index. Marbled endpapers. 8vo (about 9.25 inches tall). 451 pages.
